The following guidelines should help to make membership registration go as smoothly as possible:
1.A branch MUST have the following officers:
Cathaoirleach (Chairman), Leas Cathaoirleach (Vice-Chairman), Rúnaí (Secretary), Cisteoir (Treasurer), Oifigeach Caidreamh Poiblí (P.R.O.) and Iniúchóir (Auditor).
These MUST be 6 different people (the first 5 of these form the standing committee of the branch).
2.Each branch must also have a Designated Liaison Person (D.L.P.) to deal with issues re child protection. The D.L.P. does not have to be a separate person, i.e. any of the officers could also act as D.L.P.
3.All the above must be paid-up members.
4.There must be a financial statement included.
N.B. If these four rules are not fulfilled, the branch cannot be registered and the forms will be returned to you.
Filling in the forms
5.You must give the full name and full address for each member.
6.Please do not scatter the members all over the form – start at number 1 and continue from there with no gaps.
7.Make sure the list of branch officers are numbered in the spaces provided.
8.Put the pages together in the order:
1. Financial Statement
2. Branch Officers
4. Senior Members
5. Junior Members
9.Keep one copy for your branch and send 3 copies to your Co. Secretary – he/she will forward 2 copies to Munster Secretary.
N.B. This also applies when you are sending in extra membership later.
10.Please do not use staples, as these will all have to be removed.
11. It is against the rules to be a member of more than one branch.
12. And finally – if a member of your branch is an officer of the county board, make sure their membership is up to date before the county convention, otherwise they are not eligible to hold office.
