Munster Finals 2019/2020

Munster Ceol an Gheimhridh 2019/2020

The Munster finals of Ceol an Geimhridh 2018/2019 will take place in Hazelwood College, Drumcollogher, Co. Limerick on Sunday, February 17th 2019. Qualifiers from the counties of Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford will compete against each other in Music, Set & Céilí Dancing, Singing and Storytelling competitions for ultimate provincial honours

The age groups are Under 11 and 11/14 as of Jan 1st 2018.

 

Competitions are:

Reed (Button Accordion, Piano Accordion, Concertina, Pipes)

Wind (Whistle and Flute)

Strings (Fiddle, Banjo, Mandolin, Harp)

Duets (2 melodic instruments)

Quartettes (4 melodic instruments)

English Singing

Irish Singing

Recitation of a Poem

Storytelling

Céilí Dancing (4 Hand/8 Hand Ladies & Mixed)

Set Dancing

Mixed Polka Sets

Céilí Band (2 musicians U17 allowed)

Age groups are Under 11 and 11-14 (as of January 1st 2018)

Rules 2019/2020

Junior members of Comhaltas currently aged Under 14 are invited to consider entering this year's Ceol an Gheimhridh competitions.

 

The age groups are Under 11 and 11/14 as of Jan 1st 2019. Please see the attached rules for more details

 

Enter the competitions through your local branch secretary.

 

Competitions are:

You need two contrasting tunes if entering music and two songs (one fast, one slow) if entering singing competitions. Specific guidelines for set dancing/figure dancing are to be found in the attached rules.

 

No entry fee - you only pay admission charge at the door on the day
